muda

muda

mute moulting

when i realized that i haven't yet elaborated a statement or text concerning this exhibition, i thought that for a very long time i haven't been through such a situation - the exhibition was muda [mute].
but how to exhibit intimacy?

mute by the silence the work is loaded of, a quiet pain, so cornered, of an unwaded body, emptied, flayed - turned inside-out, both folded upon itself and searching for others.

detached skin

swep skin - shivered

suspended skin

teared skin

ripped skin

fur/skin

there is a held silence, and a thick vacuum that stick the surfaces, trying to hear
on skin it's own breath, in-betweens, and to feel a thread which would lead the gaze outward, that would open up this body to the sounds of the world.

an attempt to strip raw a nerve, to expose matter in the most stretched extension of it's surface, uncoiled, through an opening/diaphragm; cradled in creeping, horizontal, desire. which spreads itself through the floor, and searches for grounding to enable rising to it's own height.

it starts as a rehearsal about an internal feeling, covering the distance from itself; learning to scratch walls, until it faces someone to take a risk. aX* to (a) exist.

such a lack of ground, over abyssal failures, those drawing lines inscribe themselves desiring.

then comes the muda [shift], the skin sloughing, the fur moulting; which only time can surface. from a lonely sea that alone recedes, a caymmi medium, which only takes away - immersed immense, ways, awaiting, sometime, a wave, brings forward, someone who crosses out.

so, as it follows, this exhibition is to branca, lia, cecilia cotrim, paulo b., carla guagliardi and tunga, who have been most close to me recently; lola - yes, and also charles. and for helping me to bring the the works into the world - to fernando sant'anna and joão vargas. and also to the network of friends who have helped me undrowning, and observes me, slowly, taking courage for a possible (autre)mar [sea].
